Very good breakfast tea

I've been a Taylor's drinker for a long time. This Breakfast Tea is just right. Good flavor, not too strong or two weak. I can always steep it twice. I'll keep ordering.

Good tea. Not well packed.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I put this on a subscription order because it is a good tea. Hard to find loose Earl Gray that I like. The box was placed in a soft mailer and arrived with the box smashed. However, the internal packaging held up and the tea was not damaged.

Budget price without budget quality

My first encounter was with the bag version, and based on that positive experience purchased the loose leaf variety. Perfect for breakfast or afternoon. Not overly strong but I prefer adding a splash of milk.

Excellent Flavor, Excellent Price!

Short Version: Best price out there for excellent tea especially if you like a malty aromatic mahogany color tea to serve with Cream & Sugar or to drink Neat or even Iced. Excellent for your Kombucha too. This would also be an AMAZING gift for any Black Tea Lover in your life ~ it is an extravagant amount, yes, but not at an extravagant price. If you do the math you are getting over 2 pounds excellent quality tippy, malty scrumptious tea for less than $15 a pound. That is an amazing price. Buy Some, it keeps forever in a cool dark pantry so you can't go wrong. No fancy tool needed: just a mesh strainer or a tea ball or even buy your own unbleached empty tea bags and fill them as you like.LONG VERSION: I am not a certified Tea Master, but I am a long time enthusiast who as been in love with English Breakfast teas for well over 35 years.Appearance: there are no big shaggy leaves here, so at first it gives the impression of an Indian style CTC ("Cut Torn Chopped") but upon closer examination I see a very consistent natural creosote color leaves and a smattering of delighburl fawn color tippy leaves. A high quality consistent size tea, no wee fannings here, no dust.Aroma: the dried tea lets me know I am in for a treat; something malty and lightly toasted, the hint of dried alfalfa that makes me think fondly of rich sweet livestock fodder, of a green juicy plant carefully dried, holding the sunshine within...Appearance: rich red/brown color like aged mahogany. Lovely.Mouthfeel: thinner than a Pu'er, but still just right to go with breakfast or afternoon Tea & Biscuit.Taste: Perfect Cuppa. This will pair nicely with fluffy scrambled eggs or acidic and sweet fresh fruits, it will even stand up to a mild spiced sausage and or smoky sweet bacon (if you like an especially spicy start to the day such as a spicy sausage or Hatch New Mexico Green Chiles in your modette, or a plate of Huevos Rancheros, I would try an Irish or even Scottish Breakfast tea). It is also delightful for afternoon tea or late night on the weekend Me Time.I have bought and enjoyed so many English Breakfast teas Harney & Sons (Yes Please!), Vardhan (boozy and lush! Worth the price), Positively (Very Nice I order several pounds a year!), Twinings (Yum!), Tea Forte (Nice, but $$$), Numi (Very Tasty, but $$$), New English Teas (Yummy!), Frontier (alright for every day, good budget tea), Davidsons (has been thus far reliably decent!), U.S. Wellness Naturals (meh, won't buy again). Taylors can be trusted to be The Cuppa you NEED for all occasions and still make the moment feel very extravagant. Delightful!Steeping: I do like my tea fairly strong and brew it long, maybe too long...With this tea I almost always steep as second time (often chilling the second brew for later in the afternoon if it is too hot for a cuppa). I let it steep for 1 minute, pull the strainter up and out then put the strainer back in my teapot or cup to brew another minute ( 6 minutes total, I did say I like it strong, right?) . This brew I serve with raw sugar and half and half ( No compromise; this is Self Care here, Folks!). If I make it to serve without sugar, I only steep for 4 minutes. Use the best water you can get your hands on.Tea fixes so many woes. Not sure what to do? Put the kettle on!For a Medium Size Teapot: (5 cup capacity ~ not sure how big you teapot is? fill it with water and measure how many cups it holds!)1 level tablespoon tea (small size of these fine leaves makes it easy to measure consistently!)into a metal strainer or big "tea bell" style strainerAdd 1 quart of filtered water fresh off the boil (that is about 5 cups or just over 1,000 milliliters).steep 5 minutes pull strainer up, steep 1 more minute if you like it dark, like Sherlock likes itServe neat (plain) or with Half & Half and Sugar, also nice to serve with lemon (just not lemon and cream or the cream will split and look a fright!).Just want a big cozy mug of tea? Put 1 teaspoon tea in you tea bell or an unbeached drawstring paper tea bag and add boiling water, wait 5 minutes. Be sure to leave yourself room for Half & Half and Sugar if that is your preference.

Good tea in lousy packaging

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Flavor of tea is good. Leaves are not too finely ground to where they seep into your cup.  Knocked one start for the cheap packaging—vacuum-sealed bag inside a cardboard box. A tin or resealable bag would have been more convenient.

Great

Good loose-leaf Earl Grey, with the scent of Bergamot as we love it in Europe.

Tastiest Earl Grey Tea I've ever had

I am a novice loose tea drinker and only started drinking it when I learned that there are microplastics in tea bags. (Just to let you know what a rookie I am I had to look up what you called the metal doohickey where you put the tea) I read a few of the five-star reviews and followed their directions. I had no idea what I was missing. I like a strong cup of tea with milk and sugar so I fill up one side of the tea infuser and let it steep for five minutes. My taste buds didn't know what hit them. I highly recommend this tea.

I'm hooked

I am a daily tea drinker. After my local grocery store got flaky about stocking their fair trade earl grey tea, I needed to change course. I first saw Taylors in the store maybe three years ago. All of their teas taste excellent, are fair trade, and are reasonably priced. That's my trifecta!Sadly, I can't seem to find at least this flavor, my favorite, locally anymore. I can't even find it in Whole Foods or Amazon Fresh! So, I buy it here. At least I'm mitigating my carbon footprint by reusing the first tin I bought and treating these bags as loose leaf refills. I brew two 12oz. cups from one 1/3rd full infuser. Although I will keep looking for it locally, I will probably "Subscribe (something else I avoid) and Save" since this tea is my regular favorite. But how is the tea itself you ask? It's excellent, full of flavor. How many times have you smelled an alluring tea only to taste it and be let down by the lack of flavor? This bucks that trend with taste on par with the aroma. I also drink bags of the English Breakfast (red box) and Scottish Breakfast (blue) when I'm at work. The loose leaf only works at home, and serves as a bit of a reward for making it to the weekend, or (if I'm lucky) a WFH day.

Amazing flavor

Earl grey is my favorite flavor or tea. This one has bergamot in it and takes it to another level. I absolutely love this loose leaf tea. It’s full of flavor and pairs well with brown sugar and milk. Highly recommend this tea.

Great taste!

I was skeptical about purchasing this considering the low cost, but I am glad that I did. The flavor is great compared to other brands that I have tried. It can be quite strong, so don't use to many leaves, else you'll have an extremely bitter tasting tea.

Jasmine Undetectable

As others have said, if you are expecting Jasmine it is hardly there. Actually, I can't detect it at all.

Packaging

I think the tea tastes good. The reason I'm only giving 4 stars is the packaging. The last two times I've ordered the tea, the boxes were destroyed. Fortunately the inside packaging remained intact.

A lovely cup of tea

Very nice, drinkable tea. No astringency or bitter notes. I use a heaping (measuring) teaspoon and steep 4 minutes and it is perfect. There’s an underlying honey flavor — not sweet, just the flavor — that I really enjoy.

Excellent tasting tea

Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is my fav.  Good strong taste.  Packaging always good.  Tea drinker for 55 years.  No complaints on this tea or Amazon deli.

A delight to drink

This is a smooth and nicely colored Darjeeling Afternoon tea. Steep for 4 minutes and it produces a tea that is a delight to drink, with no bitterness at all. I’m so happy to have discovered loose leaf tea.

Zen like effect

Delightfully fragrant, Earl Grey tea.Over time, it has become a timeless favorite.Nuanced citrus notes dance on the palate.'Teacups seem warmer with its comforting.Smooth and balanced.Hints of floral and spice.Often enjoyed with a dash of milk, it's versatile.Preparing it with loose leaves or bags.Aromatic steam rises as it brews. Many enjoy it as part of a daily ritual.Afternoons feel more grounded!Zen-like in its effect, it soothes the senses.Over ice or served hot, it holds its character.Nothing compares to this Earl Grey.
