Simpkins Barley Sugar Drops 200g

I have liked them from childhood.

Love these sweets. Great little burst of barley sugar. Love the tin. Fits perfect in my cargo pocket.

Had never had these but after watching the show 'Call the midwife' I had to know. The taste is simple with not an overwhelming sweetness and just a tad sour. If you enjoy a hard candy that you enjoy sucking on this is the one. I don't recommend bitting it until it is smaller.

This amazing little drop assists when you may be feeling a bit "ify', I had read Queen Elizabeth always had these at hand whenever she traveled. So, in my opinion, if it's reliable enough for the Queen I think it's reliable for me!!

Just what I wanted

Wanted to try this after watching the series “Call The Midwife”. We really like them, kind of tastes like mild version of a butterscotch candy. Not too sweet, perfect for any candy lover.

Mild sugary taste is quite satisfying.

This product always arrives in great condition for boiled sweets. Nice taste, but not too sweet.

I really like this !! I've always seen them on a TV show I watch..call the midwife!!!

I bought these to eat while rewatching my way through Call the Midwife. They're really a lot like most hard candies but with a subtle undertone of barley. You'll miss it if you don't slow down to appreciate it. If they're good enough to be Nurse Crane's favorite candy, they're good enough for me!

Fresh and very tasty. High quality product. It is expensive but worth it.

I loved that they are in a tin and a thick button sized mouth full. They remind me of childhood when around Christmas Santa would leave barley sugar lollipops in our stockings. So good.

Not too sweet. Perfect for air travel.

I loved getting simpkins candies in the uk

Loved it! Keep the tin in my car so when I’m called out on a middle of the night fire call, it’s a great pick me up.

Very nice flavor and shape. I’ll be trying other flavors.

There is no problem that can't be conquered with a little use of Barley Drops

They’re quite pretty candies, and they have a mild sweetness, but not a lot of other flavor. Kind of like a lozenge, to lubricate your throat.

I have never tried Barley candy before and just bought it to taste it. It wasn't the flavor I was expecting tho (I was expecting more of barley taste), but I still like the taste a lot. It has a slight orange taste which I don't mind at all and actually makes it more interesting.

Annnnd...I'm addicted. Enough said.

Saw this candy on an English series and decided to see if someone still made it. It has a subtle tast but good

Barley sugars were mentioned on “Call the Midwife” and I ordered these to see how they tasted. Very good and not overly sweet.

They are delicious!!!

Kept in the car for traveling my daughter who does not travel well - due to motion sickness was with me for a five car ride and they worked so well she took them and I have had to order another tin

Not as strong-flavoured as ecpected, and lots broken, but nice enough.

Great taste. Never tried Barley until now.

The tin is very nice and the candy was great. Good flavor and texture. Nice color and presentation. Very tasty.

Nice candy. I was hoping for something flavored more strongly of barley.

Nice hard candy drops made from barley sugar. Not, however, what I was looking for. I was looking for something I got as a child over 60 years ago. We used to call then barley ‘pops”. I think “Clear Toy pops” are closer to what I was looking for.

I was so happy when I got these in the mail and the ingredients were as advertised. Often I find ingredient lists seem to be inaccurate. My son is a vegan and he goes to the tin often when he is over. I like them too!

I like that these sweets aren't TOO sweet. They're subtlety sweet. Probably due to the wonderful lack of corn syrup.

Delicious! Like most reviewers i also watch call the midwife and was curious on what a barley sugar was. the fact that so many people were as curious as I on this candy because of the TV show sealed the deal of my purchase. And leta just say i am not disapointed and will purchase more in the future! Yummy!

Nice value for a hard to get candy. I recommend.
