Never made Yorkshire pudding before and having this mix was great!

Easy to use

The mix itself is great. But it was delivered in a bag so the box got crushed. I'm glad the mix didn't spill out everywhere.

Makes excellent popover style Yorkshire pudding &?ones like box shows too

At first I made them as the box stated and mine looked like those pictured. Next I preheated lard in each tin cooking at 415 degrees F until tops are dark & the dough rises high like a popover! Excellent as well!

Best made with quality high smoke point oil or fat!

If you want a really nice flavor to add to these tasty puds, use a good quality fat that can be heated to almost 450F(aka ripping hot). I used rendered duck fat from the store due to the high smoke point and nicer taste.Okay, when mixing the batter do not add baking powder, thinking they'll rise higher. Just the opposite will happen as they'll rise fast and stay smaller before being done.Packaging is good. Not a big box but it doesn't need to be. Some details are in metric so make your adjustments before you start mixing. Also, convert metric temps before putting pan in oven with the fat. Filling the muffin tins, make sure you don't overload early because you should get 121 puds from this. I added too much to some too soon and only got 9. My fault. Put a little in each one then go back and add where needed. A good beef or onion gravy goes very well with these. Enjoy.

The store I usually buy this from was having trouble getting it. This is way more than I needed, but the expiration date is far enough away that I will be able to use it all before it expires.

Good for Yorkshire pudding okay for popovers

This is a perfect dough base for Yorkshire pudding. When combined with a tablespoon of prime rib fat, they are tasty and perfect. I bought them to use as a popover mix, and for that they are too heavy, too eggy, and not the perfect solution. I find with a little baking soda, they also work well for pancakes.

Whenever I'm missing my mom, I cook something that she made when I was a kid. Her popovers were amazing, but I've never had great success in replicating them until this mix, which I bought on a whim.These turned out so well! High rising, crisp outer shell, delicate insides...really yummy. I tried baking them exactly as suggested in the directions - 12 popovers in a muffin tin. They were ok, but small and kind of greasy. Tried them in my popover pan and got only 4 popovers out of the mix. Well worth it! Look at these beauties!I will order these again. I do wish the directions were not in metric, but the conversion was easy. Love how the directions say, "Confidently pour the batter..."The boxes were pretty well smashed upon arrival, but that didn't affect the popovers.Thank you Goldenfry Foods! These are delicious!
